Migration offers opportunities — but when done illegally or without proper awareness, it exposes migrants to exploitation, trafficking, and even loss of life. To respond to these risks, CHRS partnered with Migrant Resource Centres to deliver systematic outreach in identified hotspot communities where young people are most vulnerable to deceptive migration agents.
Through carefully designed training modules, IEC materials, and localized messaging, awareness sessions focused on safe migration pathways, legal documentation, health and safety requirements, and emergency reporting channels. Each activity included session planning, delivery, feedback collection, and quarterly/monthly reporting for MRC.
These sessions not only prevented human smuggling but helped families understand the social and financial risks of irregular migration journeys. The program strengthened community-level knowledge and promoted informed decision-making for migrants — especially youth seeking better futures abroad.
