CHRS trained 12,000 women in rural Punjab to improve financial literacy, entrepreneurial potential, and personal empowerment. Many of these women had limited access to income sources and decision-making authority — increasing vulnerabilities to poverty and social exclusion.
This program introduced business basics, household budgeting, civic rights, community participation, and gender equality awareness. CHRS trainers used participatory approaches, real-life scenarios, and mentoring to ensure learning turned into action.
Outcomes included:
- Women starting or expanding home-based income activities
- Improved financial decision-making within families
- Greater community participation and confidence
The initiative allowed thousands of women to transform from unpaid family workers to entrepreneurs and financially aware leaders in their households.
